The term “Dual Pricing” is an industry term meant to convey that both the card and the cash price is listed side-by-side per item. This model offers a discount to customers who pay with cash. In order to be compliant, the card price must be advertised as the listed price (credit or debit). Customers paying with cash receive a discount from the listed price. Think of the gas station scenario where a price is listed for credit and a lower price for cash. Adding a fee to debit cards, credit cards and prepaid cards is prohibited in a dual pricing program
No. Merchants may be active with either MX™ Advantage or Dual Pricing and may only be active with one MX™ Advantage program
Through our MX™ Gateway certification with Dejavoo and Valor, we offer the ability to use their dual pricing solutions where a discount is given at checkout. We do not subscribe to the dual pricing solution where a fee is added at checkout.
