What is dual pricing?
The term “Dual Pricing” is an industry term meant to convey that both the card and the cash price is listed side-by-side per item. This model offers a discount to customers who pay with cash. In order to be compliant, the card price must be advertised as the listed price (credit or debit). Customers paying with cash receive a discount from the listed price. Think of the gas station scenario where a price is listed for credit and a lower price for cash. Adding a fee to debit cards, credit cards and prepaid cards is prohibited in a dual pricing program
Can a merchant be set up for more than one MX™ Advantage program or in conjunction with Dual Pricing
No. Merchants may be active with either MX™ Advantage or Dual Pricing and may only be active with one MX™ Advantage program
Who does Priority partner with that offers dual pricing today?
Through our MX™ Gateway certification with Dejavoo and Valor, we offer the ability to use their dual pricing solutions where a discount is given at checkout. We do not subscribe to the dual pricing solution where a fee is added at checkout.

What is the maximum amount for surcharging with MX™ Advantage?
The credit card surcharge maximum amount is 3.00%.
Does Priority provide guidance on the dual pricing solutions as far as signage is concerned?
Dual Pricing program is not a defined program with the Card Networks. Please refer to Visa rules related to the Discount Offer Program

MX™ Merchant Advantage is a suite of solutions offered by Priority that offers Surcharging, Cash Discount, Service Fee, and Convenience Fee. Please review the MX™ Advantage Suite FAQ for detailed information. Below is a definition of each:
What is a Cash Discount?
Cash discount assumes all listed prices are the card prices per item. Merchant may offer a discount to a cardholder to pay with an alternative method other than their card.
What is a Convenience Fee?
A fee charged by a merchant for a genuine convenience to the cardholder that allows payment via an alternative channel outside the merchant’s customary payment channel. If permitted, a convenience fee must be a flat or fixed percentage
What is a Service Fee?
A service fee is a no-cost processing solution for education and government merchants that qualify for this program. Only certain MCCs are eligible.
What is a Surcharge?
An additional fee that a merchant adds to a customer's bill for paying with a credit card that is not charged on other forms of payment
